The Salty Dawg !!

Hitting the spit one must ALWAYS at least once hit the SALTY DAWG SALTY http://www.saltydawgsaloon.com/History.html Ive been going to the "Dawg" since I was able to pass off my fake ID. Back in the Day I worked at a store that was directly across the dirt road from the Dawg and my college Friend Lori had the opposite shift as me. So she'd hang at the dawg until I got off work at 10:00. That was one hell of a fun Summer! My dad actually used to work at the Dawg back in HIS day. Back then there were no carvings on the Bar or bills on the wall. Kinda funny he met my mom there too!! Ü I have a couple a great pics of them then. i should really scan them and put them up. Annnny Wayyyy the Krap sisters and I hit the Dawg. We decide that night that we would be the CKRAP sisters as my sister Chuck was with us. See we are quite flexible in incorporating new "sisters"!!




See this I carved it in the Summer of 1985. This is out in the pool room area and Lori and I spent MANY an hour here! Hey all the cute guys hung out here!! Plus this is were Lori would smoke her big ass Cigars! And School the guys at pool.






Here is Chuck early er in the day when we were playing tourist! Later that night we were talking about this and we both had wanted to go in and have a quick one but didn't want the other to think we were boozers!! lol It was after 12:00 at least!

Snack'en off the Land !

We spent last weekend being SPIT RATS. Aka camping on the Homer Spit. The Boys wanted to harvest some muscles so off to "Muscle Beach" we went.
The Future Glitter Queen was finding all kinds of treasures on the beach. We found a Jelly Fish and I wouldn't let her pick it up. She was MAD so I let her check out the Sea Urchin instead!






OK its not really called muscle beach but it should be! Check this out ALL muscles hardly any work involved picking them!!Makes ya wonder why they are 12 bucks for six in a restaurant??




Coke Machine bring one of many bags of muscles we collected. See the dark spots MUSSELS not rocks. It was a free for all!



On are way back from muscle beach we decided to take a peak over at the entrance of the fishing hole for lures people snag them on the rocks all the time. I found one I swear I lost a few weeks back! Any how here is Coke Machine given his cousin a lift over a stream.

When we got to Fishing Hole the tide was out so I though we could walk threw it instead of going ALL the way around. And when i looked down I saw a TON of Sea Urchins so the boys started diving for them! I couldn't really get a pic as i was "boob high" in water and trying NOT to get every ones cell phones and my camera wet. But here are some of there finds!


You don't cook Sea Urchins ya just eat the row. And the boys were in HOG HEAVEN!! I on the other hand had to PASS!! OK if the row is on Sushi iam all over it like a "big dog" but to grab one and start digging in Iam a gonna have to say NO!!!

Here we got one of the many Batches of Muscles we ate that day. OK OK I know gross right?? I had never had one before but I thought what the hell I ll give a whirl. They were GOOD I tell ya. No really they were!!

We stayed at the Beach for 3 days so I have a few more posts to go!!

4th of July

We had a GREAT 4Th of July even though I helped at the lodge helping prepare for it for 3 days. We chopped ,baked and decorated. Hey we had wine so it made things go MUCH faster!! ;op Ive helped with the raffle part the last 3 or 4 years and it is ALWAYS fun!! Dee and I had a good time and it went FAST!! So we got to enjoy a wonderfully Sunny and warm day!!

Here we got Yoshi getting his 4Th of July spirt on!!


Boon ,Monkey Boy and Brownie Girl enjoy en the Elks b-que food!

Big T was in charge of the kids games,bar tending down stairs and Fire works that night.The Moose was even home this year! Tink and her star bobble's and Hydro sporting a fancy 4Th Crown!

Monkey Boy REALLY REALLY liked the water balloons! Hey got his dad more then once!


Coke Machine,Boon and the girls got into the kids games and enjoyed the balloon toss. I think Boon needed the practice so he could dodge Monkey BOY!!

The Lodge always has a HUGE barbecue and there largest fund raiser for the year on the 4Th. The tickets are a 100 bucks that gets you food and beer for the whole day and a chance to win 12000.00 dollars!! One my tickets was in the last batch of 20 UGH so close yet sooooo far!! Sunny and Nancy Smith from Glacier won and I just love those 2 so much I couldn't be anything but HAPPY for them! What was even better there son Mark came instead of them and when he called them to let them know they had won they called him a damn liar LOL took him 20 minutes to convince them they were $12000.00 richer!




The joy of working the raffle is that you get to give the winners there checks!! Here is my Dad who won for selling the winning ticket and Jan collected a few hundeys for 10Th and 100Th draw.


We all headed to the parade after and we saw Big Al and Penny in the crowd!

The Homer Emblem Club drill team did a small presentation at the parade . Wave to Bea and the Birthday girl carrying the Emblem Banner! Don't even ask whats in Bea's pocket! ;op

Monkey boy and Boon were digging the parade.


Those two Rowdies in the front of the Pioneers Boat Float are MOD and POD Kosch!!


The Theme of the Parade and the City barbecue(witch was also held at the lodge) was the Fabulous 50's. As it is Homers 50 anniversary . Here were a couple of cool out fits i dug.

All ya have to say in Homer is FREE and FOOD and the whole town will come out!! here is the line people waited 2 hours. Luckily for them we took em out watermelon to tide em over..

I spotted this little cutie getting her face painted. Yep that's Ms. Terry's Elizabeth from Dutch Harbor. Even got to see her sis too ! Who looks AMAZING!!

I got my face painted so I thought everyone else with me needed to get theirs done too!! Yep Iam Bossy!!

Hey its the Birthday Girl!! Can ya imagine having your birthday on the 4Th? Like the whole country is celebrating with ya!!

Tink had to change after the egg toss. Lets just say the egg WON!!

It was all in all a great DAY!! We went dancing after the fireworks and rolled our selfs home around 3:00 am. The birthday girl had a great time getting her dance on too.

Fountain wading......

Ok so out side the Casino there was this fountain witch was pretty cool and I felt the NEED to have my picture taken in front of it. I thought Chi and I should be in front of the Indian dude that was in the middle of it. Sooo that meant wading out in to the fountain.............

Here we are heading back to Seattle . They put us in the back for there own sanity I am sure!

After a quick potty break Chi HAD to show me this sculpture. Its a three piece one but the rest of the pics are too dark. Actually really kinda cool made out of old scrap metal chains and stuff and is on lone from some were crap France I think or was it Canada ????
